Kurt Russell to Star in Crypto Indie Movie
American actor Kurt Russell is one of the mainstream actors who will headline an upcoming indie film about cryptocurrencies.
Other Hollywood actors who will star in the movie entitled Crypto include Alexis Bledel, Jeremie Harris, and Luke Hemsworth.
According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, which broke the story first, the motion picture focuses on a young anti-money laundering agent (Beau Knapp), who goes back to his hometown in New York to delve into a case of corruption and fraud.
This, despite the struggle of his father (Russell) and brother (Hemsworth) to maintain their family farm in a changing economic landscape. The young agent swiftly finds himself entangled in a perilous underworld colonized by a mysterious art dealer (Bledel), a cryptocurrency maven turned cyber-sleuth (Harris) and a corrupt accountant who facilitates the bidding of ruthless clients (Vincent Kartheiser).
Film producers described their masterpiece as “a thriller in the vein of The Firm and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” but infused it with a cryptocurrency-focused twist.
“Cryptocurrency has captured the attention and imagination of consumers and entrepreneurs all over the world but has never been explored in film in such a nuanced and exciting way,” Jordan Yale Levine, one of the movie producers, said in the report.
“I am overjoyed to be working with such an incredible cast to bring this timely, thrilling story to life. Beau is incredibly talented, and seeing him bring this character to life opposite talent like Alexis, Kurt, Luke, Jeremie and Vincent has been a dream come true,” John Stalberg Jr., movie director, said.
Knapp, who headlined Netflix’s recently canceled series Seven Seconds, is known for his role in comedy film The Nice Guys.
Russell, on the other hand, is scheduled to shoot Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. He also appeared in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and The Fate of the Nobody.
Written by Carlyle Eubank and David Frigerio, the independent film is currently shooting in New York.

Film Mode Entertainment is handling the worldwide rights for Crypto.
Crypto is said to be one of the most notable movies as of present in the cryptocurrency arena.
Last year, reports said the Coen brothers, the brains behind films including The Big Lebowski and No Country For Old Men, were working on a film regarding Silk Road, the now-closed dark market with bitcoin as its primary currency.
Another noteworthy yet unusual forays in this industry was Bitcoin Heist, a Vietnamese movie which revolved around a global, high-stakes manhunt.
